When Saints Row 2 first came out, many people had low expectations for the next title. No one was surprised that they actually lived up to them, a fact even Volition seems to admit. The general consensus was this game had a few issues, and yet I didn't agree at all. I judged the series for itself, as a long-term investment with only one thing on the table - the wide-open, open-world experience.
Although the game is usually so hectic that I can't stop running around, I feel that Saints Row 2 satisfies three main categories: fun, fun, and more fun. From the always hilarious sense of humor to the wild plot and snarky characters, there's no doubt in my mind that Saints Row 2 is, for all intents and purposes, the next step in the series' evolution.
I'm hearing a lot of rave reviews for the new third-person XBLA title, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell. I haven't played it much just yet, but I tried to get into this one yesterday, just because it'd be silly to be disappointed with the same XBLA title yet again. Kudos to the developers who worked on this title - such a shame that Saints Row 2 is plagued by technical issues. 7211a4ac4a
